While initially focused on medical collaboration and health insurance benefits management solutions, after hurricane Katrina hit in 2005, MedData executives met with hospitals, emergency response teams, physicians, and technology companies to create a better system of communication and response for emergency situations such as major natural disasters.
Over the decade that followed, in collaboration with dozens of health industry partners, MedData has become a core part of a unique emergency services consortium comprised of health providers and research organization partners (including medical research universities and clinics, medical practices, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, etc.) as well as a variety of manufacturers of mobile medical equipment, specialized gear for emergency vehicles, security command and communications systems, and collaboration software that ties all the pieces of knowledge management, e-procurement and other consortium services together.
